Raising Funds for Revitalizing Awareness of Haridasa Movement   

Welcome to the Haridasa movement fundraising site. The objective of this movement is to raise awareness of the history and contributions of Haridasas using modern-day visual mediums such as Cinema, video, etc. . Haridasa Sahitya (literature) and the lineage of the Haridasas for over 700 years makes it one of the premiere Bhakti (devotional) movements in the world. Haridasa Sahitya is also an ocean of both literary and philosophical knowledge. Haridasas like Purandaradasaru, Thyagarajaru, Mirabai, saint Tukaram, Vijayadasaru, Kanakadasaru, Gopaladasaru, Jagannathadasaru, the list goes on...., have made a tremendous impact on the society. They were all in their own unique way reformed societal norms and ethics in many ways. It is our duty to create awareness, preserve and pass it on to our future generations. This is exactly the vision of this duo team, Dr. Madhusudhan Hawaldar and Trivikrama Joshi. As a result, the first movie on Haridasaru, “Jagannatha Dasaru” is ready and scheduled for release (TBD) on digital platforms (provide information). With the encouragement and support of the community, the team already ventured to bring the life history of another great Haridas, Prasannavenkatadasaru. So, this is a great opportunity for all of us to be part of the Haridasa movement. No matter where we live, this is a global effort, and we are all part of this. Let us all join hands to preserve history to benefit us and generations to come. So, counting on your generosity and continuing support. 

Why do we need to donate to this movie? 

The movie producers have made a commitment to make a series of 6-7 films on different Haridasas after the initial movie on Sri Jagannatha Dasaru. These are small budget independent films, which are done on a shoestring budget. The movie producers want to reinvest any money made in this movie to produce future films on Haridasas. They have started shooting the next movie on Sri Prasanna Venkata Dasaru. They have plans to produce movies on Sri Vijaya Dasaru, Sri Gopala Dasaru, So all the money we are raising in fundraising will go to the production of new movies on Haridasas. Therefore, we are requesting donations to support this movie and the movement beyond this movie. Please donate generously to this special movement. 

What is special about this movie? 

Sri Jagannatha Dasaru has a special place in the Haridasa lineage. His unique life history, his contributions to Haridasa literature, and his ability to write complex philosophical concepts in sublime poetry are extraordinary. Unfortunately, not many people know about him, his life, and his works. In these post-modern days, the visual medium is the way to convey information to people. So, this movie attempts to convey information about Sri Jagannatha Dasaru, his life, his contributions, and his literature in a modern visual medium with all the modern technological innovations.
